Reducing Blue Light to Help Migraines and Get Better Sleep!

As a migraine sufferer, I know that I’m particularly sensitive to light.  Fluorescent lights, LED lights and the sunlight are the main offenders.   I have been able to reduce my pain from getting worse by buying some blue blocking glasses. There are some glasses that are specifically designed for migraines however I have found that I personally can get away with a MUCH cheaper option.  Why not try the cheaper option first before spending over $100.00?

What’s a person to do? There are some glasses that are specifically designed for migraines however I have found that I personally can get away with a MUCH cheaper option.  Why not try the cheaper option first before spending over $100.00?

I read some articles about the effects of blue lights and melatonin production and originally bought these glasses based on this article by Wellness Mama.  I love her work and read her blog frequently!!!  Here is another article about blue light that you might find interesting by Wellness Mama.  The glasses she recommended are below:

You can also pay more and see if these by Theraspecs work for you.  They were developed for people with Migraines!  I’m hoping to review these for you in a later blog post!

There are some programs you can download for your computer that can help too, and most recently EVEN Apple upgraded their iOS to include some blue light blocking on iPads and iPhones!

For Windows computers, Macs and Android devices you can download a free app called f.lux.  It will adjust the light on your screen so that it looks more like room light.  You can download it here.

Apple recently added this feature into their iOS 9.3 called Night Shift.  You going into the Settings App then to General>Display and Brightness>Night Shift and set up your profile there.  I love it!!!!

Even my Vizio TV has an option to set the colors to a “warmer” glow.  However the glasses still work the best when it comes to that.   I’ve also been trying to switch to those timed candles and these Himalayan Salt Lamps with a little spot for aromatherapy too.
